Аims of  the lesson:

To develop intellectual abilities, students’ interest in the country of the language being studied, attention, memory. Maintain a respectful attitude of students towards learning English and towards English-speaking countries.Develop students’ speaking and listening skills.

Objectives: repeat and activate learned material

Design: posters with the inscriptions “We love English”, “Brain-ring”, “Score”, pictures or slides with views of Britain.

1. Org. moment:

 1) —Good day, dear friends, students abd guests it’s a great pleasure to welcome you here. To our unusual lesson. We’ve gathered here today to revise our knowledge about the English language and English-speaking countries. We’ll play a game “Brain Ring”.

2) – Well! What’s Brain Ring? Brain Ring is an intellectual game when you answer questions, do different tasks racking your brains.

1. Present the teams:

1)- There are two teams and Each team has got six players. They’ll compete with each other, and after all, one of them will loose but the other one will win the game. Now, let the Captains to introduce their teams to us…

III. Present to the Jury:  

2) Now Let’s meet our jury for  our  game….

1. Explain the game and rules:

1)-You’re  welcome,  our  supporters!!!  Well,  we’ll  start  the  game! You can see the questions on the screen!

(During the game each team has a chance (only once) to ask their classmates (fans) for help).

2) – There are 5 rounds for you! Each round has 5 questions. Each question has own points :

One by one you choose the questions and answer to them, if you answer you earn points.

2)  “Hollidays”. In this task you should answer to the questions about Hollidays:

1.It is a winter holiday when people buy presents and cards.

They send presents and cards to their friends.

Children hang the stockings on their beds and fireplaces.   ( Marry Christmas)

2. It is an autumn holiday when people make Jack-o-lanterns out of pumpkins.Some people have parties and dress as witches and ghosts. (Halloween)
3. It is a holiday when people buy or make cards and send them to people they love.

They should not write their names on the cards.

Persons who get them must guess who sent them.  (Valentines Day)

4. It is a traditional holiday celebrated in Kazakhstan, which marks the beginning of the new year according to the ancient Persian solar calendar. It is celebrated on March 21st, which is also the spring beginning.

The holiday has been celebrated for over 5,000 years and is deeply rooted in Kazakh culture. It is a time for family gatherings, feasting, and traditional games and activities.

5. It is a winter holiday when people usually visit their friends.

There is a funny tradition:  the First Foot.  This is the first visitor who enters the house in the morning.  ( New year)

3) “Riddels”. In this round you must solve the riddels:
