In connection with this, a special commission of the Council of International Schools, headquartered in the Netherlands, came to school to check the requirements.
The international commission included representatives of Great Britain, Germany, Russia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Lebanon, Jordan and the United States. During the week they got acquainted with the everyday life of the Intellectual School.
The commission paid much attention to many aspects of school life. For example, to meet international standards, there were a lot of requirements, and in the first place it is necessary to note six of them. The first one is «Life Values», where teachers invest in their children: honesty, openness, love for their homeland, respect for others. The second and the biggest requirement is «Teaching and Learning». It assesses the relevance of school curricula to international programs. The next block «Leadership and Leadership» evaluates the preparation of the entire educational process. The category of requirements «Professional composition» assesses the activities of the scientific and teaching staff, foreign teachers, the work of technical and training and support staff. First of all, the readiness of the school for psychological support and disclosure of the student’s personal qualities refers to the requirements of «Access to learning». The sixth requirement is «Financial and economic part», including the material and technical equipment of the school. Specific requirements include the level of knowledge of students of foreign languages.
As the secretary of this commission Gunatai Karimova noted, everything is organized at a high level in the school and they are satisfied with the way the work is conducted here. After the end of the inspection, the members of the commission will report to the Council of International Schools, which will issue a final verdict. If the result is positive — Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey will have an international level. This opens great prospects for both the management of education in general, and for each student individually. For example, a graduate of the Intellectual School will be able to directly apply for admission to universities that are members of the Council of International Schools, and they will have priority over graduates of other schools and universities when considering candidates for applicants and distributing grants. In addition, to enhance professional skills and exchange of experience, teachers can participate in various educational trainings and seminars conducted by schools and universities that are members of the Council. This is only a small part of the available opportunities, which opens up the international level.
