Children are our future. We often hear this statement but do we really think about its actual meaning? Understanding the deep meaning of this expression makes us look for answers to the most important question — how to help our children to become builders of a bright and happy future? The role of teachers here is virtually essential, as teachers are the ones who educate and treat the students as if they were their own children. Teachers motherly surround students with care, tenderness, affection and attention. They try to help them to become kind, not indifferent, understanding and accept what is happening around them — to become a happy person.
First of all, a teacher should be patient, compassionate, and willing to see their “own children”. In fact, the students and teachers are not related by birth, but over time teachers start to say “my children”. This happened to me this year, the first year of me being a class teacher. The first day I couldn’t even tell which student was in my class in which was not. It was a long way which we have gone through from learning by heart the students’ names to missing everyone not able to see and hug them on distance learning. But now I confidently call them “my children” who are are the best learners and are the most talented students at school.
The main thing is love. A teacher who loves children can give them a lot starting with their knowledge; they share their joy and sorrow, their interests and their love. They share experience, stories, and little anecdotes with the students, which will be surely useful for children to live their lives. Aware of the fact that every child is unique, everyone has their own personality with their little quirks, teachers find the way for everyone’s heart with love and earn it in return. The great pleasure is to see how students, firstly, accept you, then show affection and, finally, express their love through hugs and compliments.
The true teachers educate with their hearts, not just their minds. Only then the learners start thinking out-of-the-box, they become self-confident, intelligent, and ready to be an active builder of the future, not only their own, but of the future of the whole country. And teachers will always be there for “their children” to encourage and praise, to offer the guidance and help to become the bright future of all.
